Liverpool has expressed willingness to ‘break’ their wage structure to retain their team star Trent Alexander-Arnold.Klopp’s earlier surprising departure announcement during this year has cast doubt on the future of some Liverpool players as well.The German coach made a major midfield overhaul during the summer, with Jordan Henderson and Fabinho departing to pave the way for new arrivals like Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, and Ryan Gravenberch.Apart from finding a new coach, Liverpool will also face some tough decisions regarding the contracts of some key players.Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, and Liverpool recently rejected a €150 million offer from Al Ittihad in the final days of the summer transfer window, while his current contract expires in 2025.Club captain and vice-captain, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, will also be without contracts in 2025, with the latter linked to a move to Real Madrid.Liverpool’s offer for Alexander-Arnold is expected to be the biggest contract in the club’s history, surpassing those given to players like Van Dijk or Salah, according to Football Insider.Alexander-Arnold is currently believed to be earning €180,000 per week at Anfield, while currently, the highest-paid player in the team is Salah after signing a new deal in 2022.
