When it comes to Max Verstappen, everyone thinks of someone who can do anything in life. The Dutch driver can afford anything he desires, as his wealth is estimated at around 120 million euros. However, renting and driving a Mercedes AMD GT car (the model in the photo) proved impossible for the Red Bull driver. Verstappen realized this a week ago in Algarve, Portugal, where he arrived with three private planes along with family and friends. Max wanted to rent that model, but the staff of the car rental company “Sixt” explained to him that for that car, insurance requires you to be over 30 years old.
Verstappen, who won his first Formula 1 race at the age of 18, as reported by British media, was reportedly “shocked by the communication” and was comforted with a BMW Series 5, with a maximum speed of 250 km/h. A spokesperson for “Sixt” publicly apologized: “Certainly, there is no doubt about Verstappen’s driving skills and his experience with powerful cars, but our employee respected the rules regarding insurance contracts. Verstappen was handed another Premium car.”
